Really filmed in Mexico!?!?!

Probably nobody can answer this, so I'm just putting it here in hopes that I or someone else remembers for next weeks Mixed Media.
Anyways, did they really go to Mexico to film? That seems so cool! And who owns the house that they used? Or did they rent it?

It looks like Mexico. The Fish taco reference suggests Rosarita and the house does look like the kind you can rent on the beach there. It wouldn't be hard or expensive to shoot something like this there at all.

It looked like Mexico to me. Of course, fish tacos are also sold all over San Diego and I used to be almost addicted to them!!!
The scenery was definitely Mexican looking to me. If they're in LA, it might take them 4-5 hours to drive down to Mexico, if there's no rush hour traffic.
