My mom married someone 13 yrs younger than her.

She's 45 and he's 32

Do you like him? I think once you get in your late 20's ages get kinda funny. I'm 28, but most of my RL friends are between the ages of 35 and 48. It's weird. My best friend is my age (we went to grade school together, but besides her my husband is the youngest person I hang out with and he is 30.

What a combo! It's hard being around people who are used to quiet and calm. My sis-in-law (not the one in Iraq), has a boyfriend like that. I always worry about him in my home (It can be chaotic, we can be a lively group of people). He just kinda sits there, and doesn't interact with the rest of us. Turns out, he loves coming to my house. He thinks it's fun. He just says' he does not no how to behave, and it would feel awkward for him to join in.

My step-dad doesn't say much to me ever. I don't say much to him. The only times he talks to me is when I do something wrong. And even then, it has to be something that was really wrong. He's nice... but he just doesn't say much. I get annoyed with him though because he has all these opinions about me that are negative and doesn't take the time to even get to know me.

Why don't I try and get to know him?

Because it's really akward for me to have my mom to myself for 16 (almost 17) years and then BAM, I'm pushed aside. I have a little resentment towards them both.
